It’s not big secret that 2024 is set to be a big year for wrestling as AEW is negotiating a new TV deal and WWE is also looking to secure a new home for Monday Night Raw. Recently it was reported that a deal between Warner Bros. Discovery and WWE could be on the table, which is interesting to say the least as AEW programming currently airs on TNT and TBS which are part of the WBD family.
The idea of WWE and WBD working together has certainly got the wrestling world talking, and Haus of Wrestling is now reporting that the vibe they were given is that AEW is in danger of not being renewed for WBD on TNT or TBS.
If that were to happen then on scenario could see Raw move to TBS or TNT with AEW programming moving to Discovery. Higher ups in AEW noted that this was news to them and not something they had heard. Another AEW source said, “Only person who really knows is Zaslav.”
Tony Khan passed on talks with the CW about bringing ROH to their network. One of his reasons was that Tony wanted to take AEW and ROH to the market together in 2024 when the rights for AEW TV became available.
Obviously a potential deal between WBD and WWE could have a huge impact on the wrestling landscape. We will have to wait and see how things play out from here.
Stay tuned for updates.
