All Elite Wrestling officially launched in 2019 and since then Tony Khan has signed a number of talented wrestlers. Some of them have already come and gone and it’s been rumored that William Regal could be on his way out.
Regal recently played a big role in the MJF vs. Jon Moxley feud as he turned on Moxley and helped MJF win the AEW World Title at Full Gear. However, MJF turned on Regal this week on Dynamite which led to speculation that Regal was being written off TV.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that a lot of AEW talent have questioned Tony Khan’s booking for William Regal now that everyone knows he’s leaving. Throughout the feud with Moxley, MJF pretended to turn babyface only to turn heel again, and then Regal turned heel, but is now seemingly a sympathetic babyface after MJF turned on him.
There were reportedly different ideas pitched for the Mox vs. MJF feud but all ideas ended with MJF winning the title. All signs point to Bryan Danielson being the next major contender for the AEW World Championship with William Regal being written out of the picture.
