Earlier this year it was revealed that FTR’s contracts with AEW were set to expire in April and for months there was a lot of speculation regarding their next move. Ultimately FTR decided to stay with AEW and after they won the AEW World Tag Team Titles they declared that they would be retiring after their contracts expired.
During a recent appearance on FTLOW the AEW Tag Team Champions talked more about their future plans and they reiterated that they won’t be wrestling full-time once their deals are up.
“I told you guys we signed a four-year deal, and when we’re done with that, we might, maybe every now and then, come out just because we love wrestling and I’m gonna have to wrestle here and there. But we’re probably done full-time for sure in four years,” Cash Wheeler said.
One way or another the next four years are sure to be interesting for FTR. Currently Cash and Dax are set to defend the AEW World Tag Team Titles against Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett at Double or Nothing on May 28. Stay tuned for updates.
