When AEW first launched in 2019 the company was pushing the fact that they weren’t going to hire writers, and it seems that talents on the AEW roster have a lot of creative freedom.
Matt Hardy has been involved in a storyline with The Firm that has seen Private Party get their contracts acquired by the group, and the storyline has mostly been playing out on AEW Dark. The storyline seems to be focused on Matt Hardy and Ethan Page and it’s been receiving positive feedback as of late.
Fightful Select reports that Matt Hardy and Ethan Page were excited to work together on the angle and the creative has been almost entirely developed by them.
It’s also being reported that a heated three minute promo for the feud that was filmed for AEW Dark was done in one take. AEW is reportedly making an effort to have more storylines carry over to Dark and this appears to be part of that plan.
