Anything can happen in the world of professional wrestling and from time to time things go wrong and wrestlers don’t see eye to eye which can lead to some tense moments.
Fightful Select reports that Ricky Starks and Swerve Strickland have admitted that they got into a skirmish at the 2022 Double or Nothing pay-per-view. There were apparently some miscommunication issues between the two during the AEW Tag Team Championship match which led to a scuffle.
There was an unplanned spot during the match that involved Swerve Strickland attacking Ricky Starks after an attempted pin on Jungle Boy. Originally Starks was set to hit his finish on someone, but Swerve was doing nothing, so he thought it would be better to improvise by getting hit and thrown out of the ring rather than just standing there watching.
A follow up segment on Dynamite was nixed, but Starks and Strickland made peace after that and are said to be fine now. The two also reportedly spoke about the scuffle on the Chris Jericho Cruise for an upcoming episode of Swerve’s podcast.
