Over the last few years AEW has signed a number of talented wrestlers and Shawn Spears has been there since the beginning. Spears spent several months away from AEW, but he recently returned to the ring on the October 14 episode of Rampage.
Shawn Spears recently talked about his future in the wrestling business during an appearance on The Sessions with Renee Paquette, and he noted that he doesn’t have a lot of time left when he said, “I’m winding down, I don’t have a lot of time left. That’s probably the reason I put pressure on myself now.”
Shawn Spears went on to say that he’s been pushing himself to accomplish his goals before his wrestling career comes to an end. He noted that his goal is win a championship in a major company and named the Intercontinental Championship specifically as a belt he’d like to hold.
“My goal is to be decorated, to win a championship in a major company. AEW or elsewhere. That is my goal. So I can have that time and that prize to show my son in the future. Being completely honest, I’ve always seen myself as Intercontinental Champion.”
