Over the last five years AEW has signed a number of familiar names including Matt Hardy. However, there’s been a lot of talk about Matt Hardy’s status as of late as it was recently reported by Fightful Select that his current deal with All Elite Wrestling is set to expire at the end of this month.
With Matt Hardy’s AEW contract set to expire this month rumors of retirement have apparently been making the rounds on social media, but it doesn’t seem that Matt has any plans to hang up his boots. Recently Matt addressed the retirement rumors and he shot them down when he posted the following:
“No, I am not retiring from active wrestling anytime soon.”
Even though Matt Hardy is still part of the AEW roster he has not wrestled a match on AEW programming since January. There’s currently no word on whether or not he’ll be signing a new contract with All Elite Wrestling.
