Business has certainly picked up on the road to AEW All In and MJF got people talking when he attacked Daniel Garcia on the July 3rd episode of Dynamite. Daniel Garcia has not appeared on AEW programming since he was attacked by Maxwell Jacob Friedman, and there’s currently no word on when he could return to TV.
Earlier this month Fightful Select reported that Daniel Garcia’s deal with AEW is set to expire in the fall. Dave Meltzer shared an update on Garcia’s status on Wrestling Observer Radio and noted that the angle with MJF was done to write Daniel Garcia off TV for now as he has not re-signed with the company.
“What I know is that when he did that angle they were aware that he might not be back, and so the angle was done in case he doesn’t come back. And if he does come back then they’ve got a storyline feud with MJF.
“I know he had been thinking about it, or he had told people he had been thinking about what he was going to do, which he should do.
“I don’t think it’s 100% that he’s coming back but I don’t think that he has re-signed or decided to leave yet. But that was one of the reasons he was taken out in storyline.”
