There’s never a good time for a wrestler to be suspended, but it looks like one AEW mainstay is off TV for now. Fightful Select is reporting that Sammy Guevara is currently suspended due to a match he had against Jeff Hardy on February 14.
Jeff Hardy suffered an injury during the match, and it’s being reported that concussion protocol was not followed. Sammy Guevara ended up hitting his finisher on Jeff which is something that should not have happened.
There’s currently no word on the length of the suspension. Following the match with Jeff Hardy, Sammy Guevera did end up working a no disqualification match with Powerhouse Hobbs.
At this point there’s no timetable for Jeff Hardy’s return, and Sammy Guevara has not commented on his suspension. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
This is not the first time Sammy Guevara has been suspended from AEW as he was previously suspended in 2020 and 2022. Stay tuned for more updates on Sammy’s suspension as they become available.
