The wrestling world has been talking an awful lot about Shane McMahon recently as he returned to the ring at the Royal Rumble, and then it was recently reported that he had quietly been let go.
Shane McMahon is now seemingly done with WWE for the time being, and when news of his departure started making the rounds current AEW star Dax Harwood of FTR tagged Shane in the following tweet:
Following his return it was reported that WWE had plans for Shane McMahon to be on Raw regularly as a heel. There were also plans for Shane to work Elimination Chamber and WrestleMania 38.
McMahon reportedly pushed to work with Austin Theory at WrestleMania with the idea being that they could play off of Theory’s storyline with Vince McMahon. Seth Rollins was another name that was said to have been discussed as a possible WrestleMania opponent for Shane, but now it’s not clear when we could see him on WWE programming again.
Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
