For months now there’s been a lot of talk about the Lucha Bros. parting ways with All Elite Wrestling, and it was recently reported that Penta’s AEW contract was set to expire soon.
Fightful Select is reporting that Penta’s deal is now up and he’s effectively a free agent now. However, Rey Fenix is still with All Elite Wrestling as injury time was added to his contract.
There had been no word on any creative plans for Penta after AEW found out he had been in contact with WWE. There was talk of Death Triangle winning the AEW World Trios Championship at All In, but it’s being said that the relationship between the two sides became strained over the summer.
Penta has interest for marquee matches on the independent scene and that has reportedly been the case through his run with All Elite Wrestling. Stay tuned for more updates on Penta’s status as they become available.
