All Elite Wrestling was officially announced three years ago, and since then the company has signed a number of talents from the wrestling world, but it looks like one AEW star’s contract is set to expire.
Joey Janela has been with All Elite Wrestling since the beginning, but his contract is set to expire in the spring and he has confirmed to Denise Salcedo that he will not be signing a new deal with AEW.
During the interview Janela confirmed that his deal will expire on May 1st, and that he will not be signing a new deal with AEW.
“I said in a couple interviews with Sean {Ross Sapp} in September that All Out weekend, I said ‘yes.’ Recently, in an interview with Barstool Sports I said ‘yes’. My contract is up on May 1st {2022}. And I am gonna have to say no now. I am not interested in signing with AEW. Re-signing with them.”
In the interview Joey Janela also noted that he will be focusing on the independent wrestling circuit as he’s been getting a lot of inquiries from promoters. Janela also thanked Tony Khan and said that he’s happy with the 3 years he spent in AEW, and that he felt he did everything he wanted to do there.
