Over the last few months there’s been a lot of talk about backstage drama in AEW, and the talk only escalated over the last few days with Sammy Guevara and Andrade El Idolo trading shots on Twitter.
Andrade is set to face Pres10 Vance of the Dark Order on Friday’s episode of Rampage, and if Andrade loses he must leave AEW forever. Tony Khan addressed Andrade El Idolo’s status during an appearance on Busted Open Radio and he claimed that Andrade has backstage heat.
“We’ve seen on September 7 that the Dark Order, of course Number Ten, Hangman [Page], all those guys, recently they’ve been approached by La Faccion Ingobernable,” Khan said. “Hangman versus Rush, it also directly ties to something that’s going to be happening Friday. … Andrade El Idolo versus Number Ten Vance, and that situation has escalated really quickly, as has Andrade’s heat around the office and locker room. So much that if Andrade loses this match, he will lose AEW forever.”
Andrade has seemingly been teasing that he’s unhappy with AEW has recently posted a tweet using the #FreeElIIdolo hashtag. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
