A number of AEW stars are currently sidelined and the company recently lost two of the biggest babyfaces on the roster as Swerve Strickland and Will Ospreay are both currently out of action due to injury. While AEW just lost two of their biggest names it seems that a familiar face could be back in the mix at some point over the next few months.
According to Bodyslam.net, Orange Cassidy has been cleared to return. Fightful Select is reporting that they were told Cassidy will be back “sooner than later.”
Orange Cassidy has been featured consistently on AEW programming ever since the company launched, but he has been absent from TV in recent months. The former AEW International Champion suffered a shoulder injury back in March, and it’s being said that his absence affected creative plans for All Elite Wrestling throughout the spring.
Cassidy is not expected to be out of action throughout the rest of the year unless for some reason there’s a big setback. It was also noted that Orange Cassidy underwent shoulder surgery shortly after he suffered the injury, and has been backstage at numerous AEW events recently.
Orange Cassidy last competed on the 3/19 episode of AEW Dynamite when he faced off against Ricochet, Mike Bailey and Mark Davis in an AEW International Title Eliminator Tournament Final Four Way match.
