Last week’s episode of AEW Dynamite featured the Face of the Revolution ladder match which featured several AEW stars including Eddie Kingston and Ortiz. Kingston and Ortiz weren’t in the match very long as they essentially removed themselves from the match when they ended up brawling up the ramp to the backstage area.
Later in the night Eddie Kingston was asked what happened during a backstage interview and he simply said, “I quit AEW. Peace.” The Mad King followed up by making the jump to Ring of Honor and it appears that he will be the next challenger for Claudio Castagnoli’s ROH World Championship. This obviously seems to be a storyline to shift Kingston to ROH, but he recently reflected on his decision to “quit” All Elite Wrestling when he posted the following on Twitter:
“Did I do the right thing leaving did I always do what I always do and self implode. Is ROH the right thing, time will tell. People are turning on me again. Munkey, Ruby, Penta Mox all have turned I must move forward.”
Stay tuned for more updates on Eddie Kingston’s status as they become available.
