Fans have seen a lot of interesting faces on AEW programming over the last few years including Paige VanZant. Paige has aligned herself with Dan Lambert’s American Top Team, and during the most recent episode of Dynamite the group interfered in the main event which allowed Scorpio Sky to defeat Sammy Guevara and become the new TNT Champion.
After the match Paige VanZant signed an AEW contract on top of Tay Conti, and during a recent interview with ESPN MMA’s Marc Raimondi she confirmed that it’s a long-term deal.
“It is a long-term deal. I’m not sure the specifics of course. I think they want to get me in the training and they want to get me ready for my first match and then after, after that, we’ll see what happens and they’ll see exactly where they want to place me within the division. I just think that it’s, it’s gonna be a pretty significant amount. I would love to see my face in AEW every week, but, we’ll see.”
Back in February a feud was kicked off between Paige VanZant and Brandi Rhodes, but the feud didn’t go anywhere due to Brandi Rhodes leaving the company. VanZant talked about her potential rivalry with Rhodes and why it came to an end.
“I just saw it as, I came in to, to kind of cause some drama and it made her leave. It made her leave the AEW, so I guess they needed a new face and signed my contract shortly after.”
Stay tuned for more updates on Paige VanZant’s AEW status as they become available.
