This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite was the go-home show for the Revolution pay-per-view and it featured the Face of the Revolution ladder match. AR Fox, Powerhouse Hobbs, Eddie Kingston, Action Andretti, Sammy Guevara, Komander, Ortiz, and Konosuke Takeshita competed in the match, but Kingston and Ortiz weren’t out there very long.
As soon as the match kicked off Eddie Kingston set his sights on Ortiz and the two AEW stars ended up brawling up the ramp into the backstage area. Following the show Eddie Kingston was interviewed and he was asked what exactly happened with him and Ortiz. Kingston offered a simple answer when he said, “I quit AEW. Peace.” He then walked out the door.
Given the nature of the interview and what went down on Dynamite this seems to be part of a storyline for Eddie Kingston. The Mad King was part of the recent ROH TV tapings, so there’s speculation that Eddie could simply be making the jump to Ring of Honor moving forward.
One way or another it will be interesting to see where Eddie Kingston goes from here. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
