AEW Reportedly Turn Down Chance To Sign Major WWE Hall Of Famer

Since All Elite Wrestling first launched in 2019 several WWE Hall of Famers have worked with the company both on screen and behind the scenes. You never know who might appear on AEW programming, and Bret Hart made a special appearance at the 2019 Double or Nothing pay-per-view when he unveiled the AEW World Championship belt.

Bret Hart hasn’t returned to AEW, but it doesn’t seem as though there was a lack of interest on his part. Pro wrestling writer Brian R. Solomon recently noted that he interviewed Bret Hart for his book and The Hitman talked a little bit about his relationship with AEW. According to Solomon, Bret Hart revealed that he offered to work backstage as an agent for AEW, but the company only wanted to use him on screen as a manager similar to how Jake Roberts, Tully Blanchard and Arn Anderson have been used.

So far Bret Hart has only made one appearance on AEW programming and it sounds like he’s not interested in being an recurring character on screen. One way or another it will be interesting to see if Hart and AEW could work together at some point in the future.
