It’s been clear over the last few months that AEW has been investing in talent, and it looks like the company has their eyes on one of NXT’s top stars.
Wrestling Inc. recently reported that Adam Cole’s original NXT contract expired in July, and that the former NXT Champion signed an extension and agreed to work through SummerSlam weekend.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is now reporting that AEW has made an offer to Adam Cole. It’s also being reported that Cole is negotiating a new contract with NXT, but he has not accepted either offer yet.
It’s expected that Adam Cole will be facing Kyle O’Reilly at NXT TakeOver 36 later this month. If Cole does not sign a new deal with WWE then he would be able to work wherever he wants when his current contract expires. Stay tuned for updates.
