AEW Dynamite first launched in TNT back in 2019 and since then All Elite Wrestling has expanded their relationship with Warner Bros. Discovery and it looks like the two sides are working on a new deal.
Fightful Select reports that Warner Bros. Discover and AEW have been in talks for months involving television rights being extended. People who spoke on the subject noted that they personally believe an announcement could be made this summer or in the fall.
Sources at Warner Bros. Discovery have reportedly been very happy with AEW and the flexibility that’s been provided with adding/subtracting shows, providing different types of content, and working around preemptions.
One of the provisions between AEW and WBD was that AEW content would be exclusive to WBD’s brands which is why AEW Dark and Dark Elevation came to an end. It was noted that Warner Bros. Discovery doesn’t have much interest in ROH beyond pay-per-view integration.
Warner Bros. Discovery has plenty of say and influence when it comes to AEW programming as fans have seen in the past with crossovers and talent that are featured, or not featured. AEW has reportedly been flexible with overruns and other requests from WBD.
The broadcast of AEW All In has been actively discussed as part of the talks between AEW and WBD. The source at Warner Bros. Discovery also confirmed the deal would be a “huge money increase for AEW, by the way things are looking now.”
