Everyone’s been talking All Elite Wrestling as of late, and the wrestling world wants to know what the future holds for the company in regards to a potential TV deal.
It looks like big things could be on the way for AEW, as The Wrap recently reported that the promotion is in “advanced talks” with Turner Sports for a show that would likely air on TNT.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter notes that TNT could be a possible home for AEW, but as of this writing a deal has not been signed. It’s also being reported that Turner isn’t the only group interested in All Elite Wrestling, and there is also another deal on the table.
The Wrap story originally noted that the AEW TV show may not be year round, but according to the Observer that’s not accurate.
The possibility of AEW announcing a potential deal at the upfronts in mid-May comes down to a timing issue of if, or when a deal gets done. With Double or Nothing set to air on 5/25, there’s interest in streaming rights to the show.
The idea is for the company to have a weekly prime time TV show, and to also be involved with a streaming service through their broadcast partner.
