AEW Reportedly Cancelling Two Shows

For weeks now the wrestling world has been buzzing about AEW’s rumored third show which is expected to air on Saturdays. The show is reportedly set to be called Collision and it looks like it’s part of a new deal between AEW and WBD.

Andrew Zarian of the Wrestling Observer is reporting that AEW Dark and AEW Dark Elevation have been cancelled for now. Part of the reason that the shows were cancelled has to do with the new deal between AEW and WBD for Collision as AEW content is now exclusive to Warner Bros. Discovery. It was noted that as of today the deal between WBD and AEW does not include any ROH content.

AEW Dark has aired weekly on AEW’s YouTube channel ever since the show launched in 2019, and AEW Dark: Elevation premiered on YouTube in 2021. The company has previously filmed footage for Dark and Dark: Elevation around Dynamite tapings on Wednesdays and tapings have also been held at Universal Studios in Orlando.

The shows were typically used to feature AEW stars competing against up and coming independent talent, and over the last few years a number of wrestlers were signed to AEW after getting their start on Dark and Dark: Elevation.

AEW still has yet to officially confirm that AEW Collision is coming, but now that Dark and Dark: Elevation have been cancelled it seems that an announcement could be coming sooner than later. Stay tuned for updates.
