Last week’s episode of AEW Rampage was only the second episode, but there was a lot of hype going into the show on Friday night. It was rumored that CM Punk would be making his AEW debut at the United Center, and the rumors turned out to be true.
It seems that CM Punk’s debut drew some interest as Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics is reporting that the show drew 1.129 million viewers on Friday night. Viewership was up from the 740,000 viewers who tuned into the debut episode of Rampage the week before.
Friday’s episode of Rampage also drew a 0.53 in the 18-49 key demographic which was up from the 0.30 rating in the key demo for the first episode. The 0.53 key demo rating for the second episode of Rampage was higher than all AEW Dynamite episodes with the exception of Dynamite’s debut in October of 2019.
It was also noted that the opening quarter-hour featuring CM Punk’s return was watched by 1,341,000 viewers on average and 842,000 in the demo for a rating of 0.65.
