This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite was a special presentation dubbed Bash at the Beach which took place from Miami, FL.
When the event was first announced many people were surprised to see All Elite Wrestling using the Bash at the Beach name, and now it seems that WWE may be taking legal action against the company.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that The Elite came to the ring after last night’s show, and indicated they could be getting sued for using the name.
“By the way at the end of the show, long after everything’s over they came out and they talked about Bash At The Beach and basically said — so I don’t know what’s happened — but they basically said I think we’re getting sued for calling the show Bash At The Beach. So I’m sure there’s a reason they said that. I don’t know if there were some threats or what, but they still called the show Bash At The Beach and next week is going to be Bash On The Beach, but they’re still gonna call it Bash At The Beach Week II.”
Tony Khan noted that last year Cody Rhodes acquired the Bash at the Beach trademark and gave AEW permission to use it.
It’s been rumored that WWE would be taking legal action, but there’s no word on whether or not a lawsuit has been filed yet.
