In the world of professional wrestling there are babyfaces and there are heels and recently fans witnessed a shocking heel turn at the Double or Nothing pay-per-view. During the Anarchy in the Arena match Konosuke Takeshita turned on Kenny Omega when he attacked him and formed an alliance with Don Callis.
Don Callis and Konosuke Takeshita appeared together on Dynamite this week and it’s obvious from the reaction they got that they’re currently two of the most hated heels in All Elite Wrestling. However, Takeshita’s heel run isn’t going to last forever as Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that the plan is for him to be a major babyface eventually.
“The long-term plan is for Takeshita to be one of the biggest babyfaces in the company, the long-term.”
It’s not clear at this point in time when the turn will happen as Takeshita is getting big reactions from fans with his current character. Don Callis and Takeshita’s feud with Kenny Omega is also far from over as this week they declared that they will cut The Elite out of All Elite Wrestling, so it’s probably going to be an interesting summer for Konosuke Takeshita to say the least.
