For months now the wrestling world has been wondering what the future holds for CM Punk and All Elite Wrestling. Punk last appeared on AEW programming at the All Out pay-per-view back in September of 2022 and he’s been out of action ever since, but recently it’s been reported that Punk is looking to make his return.
Dave Meltzer recently discussed CM Punk’s potential AEW return on Wrestling Observer Radio, and he noted that a meeting is scheduled that will include CM Punk and several other people from the company.
“There is a meeting scheduled soon in AEW with Chris Jericho, CM Punk, Tony Khan, FTR and perhaps one other non-wrestler personality. There is a lot more to this but it has to play out.”
It was recently reported that CM Punk is open to working with The Elite in AEW, but Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks don’t seem to be as keen on that idea. There’s also been speculation that Tony Khan could use AEW’s rumored Saturday show to split up the roster and keep conflicting personalities from interacting with each other.
One way or another it seems that the wheels are in motion for CM Punk to return to the company, so it will be interesting to see where things go from here.
