It looks like an AEW producer is no longer with the company as Fightful is reporting that BJ Whitmer was arrested by the Boone County Sheriff’s Department in Boone County, Kentucky on June 4. Whitmer was charged with strangulation in the first degree and burglary in the second degree.
A bond was set for $25,000 and BJ Whitmer was released on June 12, 2023. Following the arrest All Elite Wrestling has parted ways with Whitmer as the company issued the following statement:
“B.J. Whitmer has been terminated following his arrest on domestic violence charges. While talent and staff are ultimately responsible for their own personal actions, this behavior is intolerable within AEW. AEW has reached out to offer support to those impacted by his behavior.”
BJ Whitmer has been working behind the scenes for All Elite Wrestling as a producer since 2019. He is a four time ROH Tag Team Champion. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
