AEW Champion Kenny Omega Referred To As “WWE Champion” On Dynamite, Drew McIntyre Responds

Kenny Omega defeated Jon Moxley to become AEW World Champion during the special Winter Is Coming edition of Dynamite back in December, but this week he was referred to as the WWE Champion.

While introducing a segment featuring Kenny, AEW announcer Jim Ross said that AEW cameras caught up with “WWE Champion Kenny Omega.”

Fans quickly caught on to the mishap, as did current WWE Champion Drew McIntyre who reacted to the mistake by posting a meme of himself with a caption saying “The WWE Champion, Drew McIntyre is not impressed or amused.”

This week after the main event Kenny Omega confronted Jon Moxley and announced that he will be defending his title against Moxley in an Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch at AEW Revolution.

AEW Revolution will air on Sunday, March 7. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
