All Elite Wrestling first launched in 2019 and the company launched with four annual pay-per-views. Last year AEW added a fifth pay-per-view to their schedule in the form of Forbidden Door, and now it looks like the company could be adding more pay-per-views in the future.
Fightful Select is reporting that Warner Bros. Discovery has proposed the idea of AEW expanding their pay-per-view schedule as part of a potential new extension for their rights deal with the company. A source noted that it’s likely AEW will be adding more pay-per-views and could even possibly expand to one a month.
It’s being said that Warner Bros. Discovery has wanted this for some time. At this point in time it’s not clear if the additional pay-per-views would be standalone or part of a streaming deal with MAX.
The expanded schedule for AEW pay-per-views has been discussed, but so far nothing regarding the deal has been finalized, so things could change. Stay tuned for updates.
