Adam Copeland Wins And Loses TNT Championship At AEW Worlds End

Back in August fans saw Adam Copeland’s final WWE match when he faced off against Sheamus on SmackDown. Following his match with Sheamus, Copeland’s WWE contract expired and fans immediately started talking about the possibility of Adam Copeland joining AEW.

At the first ever AEW WrestleDream pay-per-view in October the unthinkable happened when Adam Copeland made his debut with All Elite Wrestling and confronted Christian Cage. Adam Copeland later cut a promo on Dynamite and he asked Christian Cage if they could reunite then end their careers together as a team. However, Christian turned down Adam Copeland’s request which kicked off a feud between the two former friends.

After one thing led to another Adam Copeland challenged Christian Cage for the TNT Championship earlier this month on AEW Dynamite, but the match ended in controversy as Nick Wayne’s mom interfered and helped Christian get the win.

Adam Copeland and Christian Cage faced off once again in a no disqualification match at AEW Worlds End and the TNT Championship was on the line. Early on in the match Adam Copeland was busted open over his left eye and Christian Cage proceeded to brutally beat him down with kendo sticks.

Eventually Adam Copeland got the upper hand and he pulled out a ladder to a massive reaction from the crowd. Christian took Copeland down with a falling inverted DDT then climbed the ladder in the corner. Adam Copeland met him at the top and went for a superplex which Christian reversed into a sunset flip powerbomb off the ladder.

Christian then pulled out two tables to a big reaction from the fans in attendance. Nick Wayne helped him set up a table on the outside and he reached over the ropes from the apron to try and suplex Copeland into the table. Copeland fought out of it and went for a spear, but Nick Wayne saved Christian.

Adam Copeland got Christian back in the ring and hit him with the Edgecution on a steel chair. He followed up by setting Christian Cage up for the conchairto. Nick Wayne grabbed the chair out of Copeland’s hands then Christian used a steel chair to hit Adam Copeland with a low blow. Christian set up a table in the corner then waited for the right moment to hit the spear as Copeland got up. Copeland dodged it them threw a chair in Christian’s face twice. He then proceeded to spear Christian Cage through the table. Adam went for the pin, but Nick Wayne’s mom pulled the referee out of the ring.

Copeland started to approach Nick Wayne’s mom then Nick Wayne hit him in the head from behind with the TNT Championship. Nick Wayne then took out Adam Copeland and threw him into the ring. Christian hit the Killswitch for a two count.

Christian and Nick Wayne then poured lighter fluid on the table outside the ring. Nick Wayne lit the table on fire as Christian tried to throw Copeland into it, but Copeland speared him. Copeland then knocked down Nick Wayne and poured more lighter fluid on the table then lit it on fire again. He powerbombed Nick Wayne onto the flaming table which didn’t break.

Back in the ring Christian Cage tried to hit Copeland with the belt, but Copeland hit him with a low blow then followed up with the Killswitch to defeat Christian Cage and become the new TNT Champion.

After the match Adam Copeland celebrated with the belt as Luchasaurus appeared behind him. Luchasaurus chokeslammed Adam Copeland through a steel chair then cashed in his title shot for the TNT Championship he earned earlier in the night when he won the battle royal. Christian stopped him and asked Luchasaurus to give him the contract. He whispered something in the ear of Luchasaurus then he surrendered the contract.

Christian Cage signed the contract, handed it to the referee then waited in the corner for Adam Copeland to get up. He speared Adam Copeland then pinned him to once again become the TNT Champion.

After the match Christian Cage celebrated with the TNT Championship as he walked up the ramp. Adam Copeland then walked to the back as the crowd cheered for him.
