Originally Adam Cole was set to defend the TNT Championship against Kyle Fletcher at AEW All In Texas, but it was announced ahead of the show that Cole was not cleared to compete, and that the TNT Championship would be vacated. It was also confirmed that Dustin Rhodes, Sammy Guevara, Daniel Garcia and Kyle Fletcher would face off in a four way match for the vacant title.
Ahead of the match Adam Cole brought the TNT Championship down to the ring. He grabbed the mic and apologized to the fans for letting them down. Cole said that due to medical reasons he will be gone for a while. The former TNT Champion told the fans that he doesn’t even want to think about retirement, but he wanted to address them incase this is goodbye.
Adam Cole was in tears as he reflected on the support that the fans have given him throughout his career. Kyle O’Reilly and Roderick Strong came down to the ring and hugged Adam Cole as the fans chanted “thank you Adam.”
Garcia, Guevara, Rhodes and Fletcher then made their way down to the ring and the four way match for the TNT Championship kicked off. Ultimately it was Dustin Rhodes who won the match and the TNT Championship for the first time in his career.
As the match was wrapping up Daniel Garcia had Rhodes in the Dragon Tamer. Sammy Guevara was trying to break it up, but before he could Rhodes rolled Garcia up and pinned him to win the belt.
Dustin Rhodes was in tears as the referee handed him the belt and the fans chanted “you deserve it.” After the match Dustin celebrated with Wayne & Wyatt Rhodes and the Von Erichs. Sammy Guevara also got in the ring and showed respect to Dustin Rhodes as the segment came to an end.
