Over the years there have been a lot of rumors and stories regarding Abyss and a potential jump from TNA to WWE. It’s no big secret that WWE was interested in Abyss. Tommy Dreamer once said in an interview that the reason Abyss didn’t jump ship is because he got cold feet. However on the most recent edition of The Ross Report, Abyss told Jim Ross his side of the story.
He says that when he was offered the WWE deal in 2006 he didn’t take it because TNA was hot during that time period and he believes in the company.
“I would rather have been part of something…versus taking the chance of going somewhere and just being a number,” Abyss said.
Abyss also claimed that he was told by John Laurinaitis that he would be thrown right into the main event scene and possibly a feud with The Undertaker. He went on to say that he has a lot of friends in the company and that he appreciated the offer.
