Baron Corbin has been getting a massive push as of late, and he recently main evented the Stomping Grounds pay-per-view when he challenged Seth Rollins for the Universal Championship.
Even though Corbin lost the match, it was announced the next night that he’ll be getting another shot at the belt when he teams up with Lacey Evans to take on Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins in a winner take all mixed tag team match at Extreme Rules.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that one of the reasons why Vince McMahon is pushing Baron Corbin is because he thinks Corbin is the type of guy women swoon over.
The belief is that Vince McMahon tries to push guys he thinks women like, with the idea being that they will draw in a top position. Baron Corbin is said to be an example of this mentality.
WWE officials have reportedly been behind Baron Corbin since he was in developmental.
