Saturday night was a huge night for ROH and NJPW, as the brands came together to present the G1 Supercard at Madison Square Garden.
The show was sold out, and feature a surprise appearance from Enzo Amore and Big Cass after the winner takes all tag team match.
Enzo and Cass hopped the barricade, and Enzo got beat up by The Briscoes. A brawl ensued between Enzo, Cass, The Briscoes and Bully Ray, then Enzo and Cass left through the crowd.
The invasion wasn’t shown on the broadcast, which caused some to wonder whether or not it was all part of the show.
According to Voices of Wrestling, the invasion was a work, and the upper office reportedly pushed for the angle while the booking team was against it.
Just got a text. 100% work. Was told the upper level office pushed for it despite booking team being largely against it. https://t.co/XfPUueJgpt
