At the moment fans are looking ahead to WrestleMania 35, and the spotlight definitely seems to be on Becky Lynch, Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair.
WrestleMania is less than two months away, and there’s a lot going on in the women’s division right now, which has unfortunately caused SmackDown Women’s Champion Asuka to get lost in the shuffle.
Even though Asuka is the current SmackDown Women’s Champion, she hasn’t exactly been a regular on the blue brand over the last few weeks.
According to WrestleVotes, there is a plan in place for Asuka in regards to WrestleMania 35, but due to the current landscape in the women’s division WWE was left with only Lana and Zelina Vega as potential challengers, and they didn’t want to book Asuka vs. either opponent for the upcoming PPV.
Been getting a ton of Asuka questions. As far as I know, they do have a plan for Mania. Just wasn’t wise for Asuka to be featured the last few weeks. WWE doesn’t want excessive “brand jumping” prior to WM, leaving only Lana or Vega for Chamber. That’s not a PPV matchup WWE wanted
