The past few weeks have been a busy time for the Superstars of WWE thanks to WrestleMania and the Greatest Royal Rumble, and on Sunday they will compete at another big event when Backlash airs live on the WWE Network.
During the WWE Superstar Shake-Up a few weeks ago, Jinder Mahal moved to Raw, and then dropped his US Title to Jeff Hardy who moved to SmackDown Live the next night.
Now it’s expected that Jeff will defend his United States Championship against Randy Orton at the event, and it looks like another SmackDown Live star may be added to the match.
CageSideSeats notes that it’s rumored Shelton Benjamin will be added to the title match to make a triple threat, so that neither Jeff Hardy nor Randy Orton have to take the pin.
Jeff Hardy is set to appear on Miz TV tonight, so fans will likely have a better idea in regards to what will be happening with the US Title at Backlash following SmackDown.
