Roman Reigns is The Big Dog, and any fan who tunes in to watch WWE programming on a weekly basis is well aware of the fact that WWE officials want him to be the face of the company. Reigns has received a huge push over the last few years, but there’s still a portion of the audience that hasn’t quite accepted him as the top guy.
Reigns and Cena may be different in many ways, but they’ve walked a similar path with their careers by dividing the audience. The 50/50 approach seems to work out pretty well for Cena, as the 16 time WWE World Champion is reportedly still the top guy as far as WWE merchandise sales go.
But according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Roman Reigns and AJ Styles also seem to be doing well with their merchandise sales, as sales for both stars have created a duel over the number 2 spot behind Cena.
Merchandise sales are definitely a good indicator of popularity, so even though neither Styles nor Reigns are in the number 1 spot at the moment, number 2 is not a bad place to be as they’re both likely making very good money.
Other WWE Superstars who are reportedly doing well in the merchandise department at the moment include The New Day, Finn Balor, Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman.
