After months of anticipation and hype, WrestleMania 34 finally aired on the WWE Network on Sunday night. It’s never too early to start talking about WrestleMania 35, and it sounds like WWE officials already have at least on idea on the table for the main event.
Ronda Rousey had one of the most well received matches on Sunday, and the reaction was well deserved as she put on quite the performance during a tag team match which saw her join Kurt Angle to take on Stephanie McMahon and Triple H.
Signing Rousey was a good move on WWE’s part, because a lot of people are talking about the bold shift she’s made from MMA to pro wrestling, and it looks like all of the attention could lead to huge opportunities for the former UFC fighter.
WrestleMania is set to return to MetLife Stadium in New Jersey last year, and Dave Meltzer reported on the most recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio that there’s already talk of putting Ronda Rousey in the main event.
“Ronda Rousey was always a big signing even if she didn’t have a good match, and she didn’t have good interviews. Just the fact they had her, because of her rep and everything, but this is real big. It’s big enough to where they’re already talking about Ronda Rousey in the main event at next year’s WrestleMania.”
With the Women’s Revolution in full swing, the question of whether or not women will main event WrestleMania at some point has been getting asked a lot more as of late, and it seems that it’s only a matter of time before it happens.
Triple H has already confirmed that Ronda will be competing at WrestleMania 35, and it looks like she could very well end up making history by becoming one of the first women to wrestle in the main event.
