ROH is a company that’s consistently attracting new fans, and Impact Wrestling is a company that is once again going through the rebuilding process.
It seems that it could benefit ROH and Impact Wrestling if both companies worked together, and recently there’s been talk that it may happen.
Talks of a working relationship between ROH and Impact Wrestling intensified on Friday night when Impact Global Champion Austin Aries showed up at the Ring of Honor 16th anniversary show and challenged Kenny King.
However, PWInsider is reporting that at this point in time Impact and ROH are not working together at all.
Austin Aries is not currently under contract with Impact Wrestling, so there is no paperwork stating where he can and can not work. Aries was booked independently, and didn’t need to clear his appearance with Impact.
Aries did make Impact aware of the appearance beforehand, and Impact officials felt that it would be positive for Impact even if they’re not directly working with ROH.
The current Impact management team is working under the idea that they want an open door policy so that they can work with whoever they can.
Impact officials are hoping this is the first step toward building a working relationship with ROH, and they gave Aries their blessing in regards to him bringing the Impact Global Championship with him to the event.
