Billy Corgan has an interesting history with Impact Wrestling. He joined the company in 2015 as the Senior Producer of Creative and Talent Development, and he later took over as the president of the promotion.
Corgan eventually parted ways with the company after Anthem took over, but he recently discussed his run with Impact on Busted Open Radio, and he said that former TNA World Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis, aka Magnus, was openly buried during meetings backstage.
“I sat in many TNA meetings where Nick [Aldis’] name came up and people in the company openly buried him,” Corgan said. “And you would say this guy is in his prime – both as a performer and as a talent – and it was always about his attitude. People didn’t want to work with him.”
Billy Corgan went on to say that he’s never had a problem with Aldis. He also noted that he had been friends with Nick’s wife, Mickie James, for years before they started working together, so perhaps that’s why he had a different working relationship with him.
Corgan is now the owner of the NWA, and he’s once again working with Nick Aldis who is the current NWA World Heavyweight Champion.
