Kevin Owens have been big players on SmackDown Live ever since Sami turned heel and aligned himself with Kevin at Hell in a Cell last year, and they’ve been feuding with Commissioner Shane McMahon.
Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens have gone from being friends to enemies several times throughout their careers, and even though they’re currently friends, they faced off in the main event of SmackDown Live this week with a WWE Title shot on the line.
AJ Styles sat at ringside for the match, and he kept a close eye on Zayn and Owens as he waited to find out who would be challenging him for his title at the Fastlane pay-per-view.
Owens and Zayn have fought many times in the past, but fans know when they’re in for a great match when they face off, and this match was no exception.
As they battled back and forth, Owens told Zayn, “Stay down. I’m the one who wins the titles.”
At one point Zayn got in AJ’s face at ringside, so AJ pushed him into KO, and the referee called for the bell.
Daniel Bryan then came out and announced that both Sami Zayn and KO will challenge for the WWE Title at Fastlane in a triple threat match.
This year’s WWE Fastlane pay-per-view will be the last pay-per-view before WrestleMania 34, and it will air live on the WWE Network on Sunday, March 11.
