According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter the negotiations between Sting and WWE are over and he has now officially signed a deal with the company. The deal was said to have been close to being done for some time now but everything is now in order and the deal is complete.
As far as what Sting’s role in the company will be that is unknown at this point. His deal does include television appearances but in what role that much is still up in the air. Many speculated that the company would build toward a match between Sting and The Undertaker next year at WrestleMania but rumor has it that The Undertaker’s future is very much a mystery with most people believing he is now retired.
It will be interesting to see when WWE decides to introduce Sting to the WWE Universe and in what capacity they use him. It will certainly be an exciting event when WWE makes an official announcement.
