Raw was a pretty great show last night all things considering but The Shield still walked to the ring with only two members. Roman Reigns is out of action and awaiting medical clearance to return from the recent illness that tore through the locker room. At this point, it looks like he might be the only one not cleared to return.
The word is he has a viral infection which some people believe to be the mumps. Now Roman Reigns will be missing an upcoming European tour and it looks like The Big Dog might be missing even longer than that. However, he’s set to return on Raw on November 13, and he’s still penciled into WWE’s plans for Survivor Series.
“He’ll be back on the Atlanta Raw which is in two weeks,” Dave Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio. “And he’ll be in the Survivor Series. The match is scheduled as of right now to be Kurt Angle, Roman Reigns, Samoa Joe, Braun Strowman, Finn Balor — god only knows why.”
Meltzer confirmed the members of Team SmackDown are scheduled to be Shane McMahon, AJ Styles, Bobby Roode, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Randy Orton. “Which is actually a hell of a match, it’ll probably be the best match on the show. So Roman Reigns isn’t cleared he’s not gonna be on the European tour.”
Meltzer also said Reigns’ absence from the upcoming European tour is why Triple H was announced for so many dates on the tour because he was filling in for Roman Reigns.
Therefore out of all the big names taken off the road in recent weeks including Samoa Joe, Nia Jax, Bray Wyatt, Bo Dallas, and JoJo Offerman, it looks like Roman Reigns is the only one who is still waiting on a green light so he can return to work.
