The wrestling world was shocked when reports broke saying Nia Jax walked out before Raw on October 9th. Fans wanted to know what was going on and others were legitimately concerned for The Girl Who’s Not Like Most Girls.
The situation surrounding Nia Jax and her leave of absence is still a bit unclear at this point because all we’ve heard is she left due to personal reasons. While WWE is denying there is a leave of absence, other reports contradict WWE’s official statement.
If she is going through some kind of personal issue bad enough to take her off the road it’s odd WWE isn’t addressing it. But that’s how World Wrestling Entertainment does business sometimes because it’s showbiz, pal.
Nia Jax didn’t ask for her release but she might not be around for awhile. With Austin Aries and Neville’s recent walkouts, a lot of people drew a correlation but she’s still an employee and at this point, she will be back. PW Insider reported Jax missed something being filmed for Total Divas this week in NYC which means she will be missing from the show sometime in the seventh season. Therefore Jax has been taken off the road and isn’t working for WWE at all right now.
The fact is being unhappy with your position in WWE is no new thing. This has always been an aspect of the company’s structure because there will evidently always be people frustrated with their position in the company.
But WWE is the place where you have to go as a pro wrestler in order to make big money. “I know Nia Jax has been unhappy about things,” Bryan Alvarez said on Wrestling Observer Live. “I was told that Nia wanted the match with Asuka at TLC pay-per-view — she’s not getting it. God bless her, I’ve seen that match live… I don’t wanna see it at the pay-per-view. There were other things she was unhappy about but everybody gets unhappy all sorts of things.”
Let’s just hope the best for Nia Jax because she will be missed. Whatever she’s dealing with Nia should know she’s got a lot of people pulling for her.
