Ryback left WWE last year, and even though he’s not on television every week he’s still been pretty busy. The former WWE Intercontinental Champion launched his own supplement business, he wrote a book, and he’s also been wrestling on the independent scene.
Over the course of his career Ryback has wrestled some of the biggest names in the business, including current WWE Champion Jinder Mahal. During a recent episode of his podcast Conversation With The Big Guy, Ryback talked about working with Jinder Mahal in WWE, and he said that he happened to wrestle his “worst match ever” against Mahal in developmental (via Wrestling Inc).
“The worst match of my entire [pro wrestling] career was with Jinder Mahal. Remember? I don’t know if [podcast cohost Pat Buck was] there. We ended up doing a match on the fly. And it was probably my worst match ever. Just nothing went right and Jinder was super-new to developmental at that time. And it was really f–king funny actually, but it was after NXT and we all were down there. None of us… The Nexus thing hadn’t happened yet.”
Jinder Mahal has obviously come a long way since his time in developmental, and now that he’s the WWE Champion Jinder has said that he feels motivated to work even harder.
It doesn’t look like Ryback has plans to return to WWE anytime soon, so it’s probably unlikely that we’ll be seeing the two stars collide once again in the near future.
UFC Hall of Famer Stephan Bonnar is making the jump to professional wrestling, and on this week’s episode of Still Real Radio we’re talking all about it. Bonnar is teaming up with Phil Baroni to form a tag team called The Real Shooters and they’ll be wrestling their first match in just a few weeks.
