Jinder Mahal is the current WWE Champion and judging from the push he’s been receiving lately it looks like he’s going to be holding on to the belt for the foreseeable future. Winning the WWE Championship was a dream come true for Jinder Mahal, and now that he’s made it to the top of the mountain he’s looking toward new goals.
Jinder recently spoke to SportsKeeda about his journey to the top of WWE, and he says that the pressure is on going into Money in the Bank, and he plans on working harder than ever before.
“Yes, of course, winning it (WWE Championship) is one thing, but retaining it is another. I plan on being a long-term champion. I want to be a champion for years to come; I want to be one of the greatest champions of all time. This is good pressure, I need this pressure because pressure makes me work harder. It took hard work to get to the championship and win the championship, but it’s going to get even harder. I’m going to be training and add more preparation to my matches because I plan on staying champion for a long time.”
Jinder Mahal was asked to name a potential dream opponent, and Mahal has a huge name in mind. He revealed that he wants to put his title on the line against Brock Lesnar in a Champion vs. Champion match.
“I think my dream opponent is Brock Lesnar. Imagine that match – Champion vs Champion, WWE Champion vs Universal Champion. He is my dream opponent because if I can knock off Brock Lesnar that would truly solidify me… I’m the best and let the world know that the WWE Champion is better than Universal Champion.”
Right now it looks unlikely that we’ll be seeing Jinder face off against Brock Lesnar anytime soon, but anything can happen in the WWE, so there’s no telling what the future might hold.
Who would you be rooting for if Brock and Jinder faced each other with both titles on the line? Sound off in the comments below.
