One of the worst times to get an injury is when you’re on the cusp of challenging for a major title. Well, that happened to Braun Strowman and now The Monster Among Men is sidelined for a little bit. He was scheduled to take on Brock Lesnar at Great Balls Of Fire in July. But since he’s injured, those plans have to be changed up a bit.
There are actually a couple people vying for Lesnar’s Universal Title at this point. But CageSideSeats is reporting the man who will take Braun’s place might be Finn Balor. Of course, those are only rumors. But since Roman Reigns is expected to be paired up against Bray Wyatt following Strowman’s injury, it only makes sense that they swap.
Finn Balor obviously wants that Universal Title back in his arms now that he can lift it. After all, when he won the title at Summerslam he couldn’t even raise his newly captured prize in victory. At the time Balor’s shoulder was destroyed via a powerbomb on the outside barrier from Seth Rollins.
Since Seth Rollins is still going after Samoa Joe and Roman Reigns is taking on Bray Wyatt for some reason, it only makes sense to put Finn Balor against Brock Lesnar.
Therefore, Finn Balor is being considered to take Braun Strowman’s spot to face Brock Lesnar at WWE Great Balls Of Fire, and it sounds about right. When all is said and done, Finn might not be able to recapture his Universal Title though. But only time will tell how they book the match. One thing is for sure with the way Finn’s prone to injury, booking him against Brock Lesnar makes us a little nervous. After all, Lesnar has never been known to have a weak hand at anything.
