Kevin Owens And Sami Zayn Join The WWE SmackDown Live Roster

Monday night the WWE Superstar Shake-up kicked off on Raw, and SmackDown Live lost quite a few of its top stars, but the brand gained a big star at the beginning of this week’s show.

As soon as SmackDown Live kicked off, Kevin Owens’ music hit, and the crowd in Boston went absolutely wild. Kevin Owens made his way down to the ring dressed in a suit with the United States Championship over his shoulder and it was obvious that the fans in attendance were very happy to see him.

Kevin Owens grabbed the mic and he welcomed fans to the brand new Kevin Owens Show. He told them that SmackDown Live just got a huge upgrade because he brought the United States Championship with him.

Owens quickly turned the crowd against him when he told the fans that it’s a well known fact that Canada is better than the United States. He was met with “USA” chants and he reminded the crowd that the Montreal Canadiens beat the Boston Bruins all the time.

He told the fans that he’s not there for them, he’s on SmackDown to beat up everyone on the SmackDown Live roster, and he’s going to become the new face of America.

Kevin Owens was interrupted by Baron Corbin. Baron told him that he can probably beat up most of the SmackDown roster, but he can’t beat him up, and he reminded Owens that Dean Ambrose beat him on SmackDown.

Corbin said he’s owed a title match, and Owens shut him down. Then Sami Zayn’s music hit, and Kevin Owens stood in the ring in disbelief.

AJ Styles then made his way out into the arena. The crowd gave AJ Styles a deafening ovation as they chanted his name, and he soaked up the adulation for a minute before telling Corbin, Zayn and Owens that this isn’t the Kevin Owens Show, it’s SmackDown Live.

Styles told fans that SmackDown is the house that AJ Styles built, and then Daniel Bryan made his way out into the arena and said that it was announced before the shake-up that Kevin Owens has a US Title match at Payback, and whoever wins the match will become a SmackDown star. He said that the title won’t be defended until after Payback.

Bryan then announced that Zayn, Styles or Corbin will face the winner of the Payback match, because tonight there will be a number 1 contender’s match for the US Title featuring AJ Styles, Baron Corbin and Sami Zayn.
