AJ Lee has always been one of the most outspoken females to have ever set foot in a WWE ring, from her pipebomb to the cast of Total Divas, to calling out Stephanie McMahon regarding gender equality on Twitter, AJ always spoke for herself.
Since she left WWE back in 2015, the Women’s Revolution has taken over the company and the likes of Sasha Banks and Charlotte have been afforded the opportunity to make history on many different occasions over the past few months.
This is something that AJ Lee fought for and even talked about it in her acceptance speech when she won Diva of the Year in 2014.
AJ recently released her first book entitled “Crazy Is My Superpower” and spoke to ESPN as a way to promote the book, where she was asked about WWE’s current women’s division.
“To me, it was picture-perfect, and I wrote in my book that I felt like it was wrapped up in a tidy bow. I think this is everyone else’s time now. It’s the evolution, and these girls are wonderful. I hope that they’re happy and getting paid equally as the guys are and getting the screen time as much as the guys are. I hope that the next generation is happy.”
It seems that women’s wrestling is heading in the right direction and while WWE may be reluctant to admit it, AJ Lee was the one who really got the ball rolling when it comes to the Women’s Revolution.
