Maria Kanellis and husband Mike Bennett allowed their Impact Wrestling contracts to expire last month and have been rather quiet since then. It was noted in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE makes it very clear if a talent wants to come into their company for any kind of surprise debut, then they need to keep quiet about it. This would certainly fall in line with what is happening with the Bennetts.
Mike and Maria reportedly have a plan, but they’ve decided to keep quiet in regards to their destination. It was also noted that that they don’t have many options other than ROH, NJPW, or WWE. So, don’t be too shocked if they end up appearing on WWE television eventually.
We had a lot of people asking us if Damien Sandow, or as he’s now known in Impact Wrestling, Aron Rex, is still with the company. The reason why Rex wasn’t at the recent Impact tapings is because he was shooting a movie. He’s taken acting lessons before including Shakespearean acting, and he’s considered getting into the acting business for a while now.
Therefore, the Liberace-inspired gimmick will be making its presence known in this new creative regime of Impact Wrestling. It would also explain why Rockstar Spud was used so minimally because he has been brilliantly paired with Rex as his chauffeur of sorts.
It’s good to know the former Damien Sandow still has a place in Impact Wrestling and he’s also keeping busy with auxiliary projects as well. You’re welcome.
